Unlike pulleys, which work with a belt or cable, friction drive rollers directly contact the surface of the material they are moving (like paper, tape, or card) and rely on friction to move the material along without slipping. The direct contact allows for precise control, reduces the risk of slippage and provides smooth, consistent motion. WM Berg manufactures pin hub friction drive rollers with a stainless steel wheel and rubber tire in diameters from 0.625 - 4.125” with additional materials and diameters available on request.
