What is Part Solutions?

Part Server is a CAD model service used in conjunction with the wmberg.com website. W.M. Berg has contracted with Part Solutions to provide this service. They provide models to visitors of the Berg website. A visitor can also generate models directly from the partsolutions.com website. Models are delivered in the native CAD format of choice directly to the visitor.

How is Part Solutions integrated into the Berg website?

Visitors search using our part number or category drill down list in the Online Catalog. Using the Online Catalog search function, when the Part Detail page or multiple part listing page is reached, visitors may preview a model or request a cad model be emailed to them.

How much does a CAD model cost?

Models are provided free of charge to all visitors. However, all visitors are required to register on the Berg website before downloads can be made.

How do I know what parts have a CAD model?

Parts with a     icon in our Online Catalog have models available.

How do I know what file format to download?

First determine if you want a 2D or 3D model. Then determine the file formats your CAD software supports. Please see the What formats are available?section.

What is the typical turnaround time?

The turnaround time typically is under 10 minutes, but may be longer, depending on the complexity of the model chosen.

How many CAD models can I obtain?

I requested a model and did not receive it.

Under normal circumstances, models take up to 1-10 minutes to generate and are immediately emailed upon generation. If it has been over 4 hours since your request was made, please review the following potential causes. If after ruling out these causes, please email wmberginformationsystems@wmberg.com for assistance.

Email-Filtering (Anti-Spam) Software?
If your company is using email-filtering software, you may be unable to receive email from Part Solutions. Please contact your local Information Systems administrator for assistance or use an email address that is not filtered.  Note: If we receive a delivery failure from your server, we will email you at the address provided on your registration.

Correct Email Address on file?
Check the email address on your registration.

Is your email address working?
Have a friend send an email to you to test your account. If not received within normal limits for your company or personal account, please contact your local Information Systems administrator for assistance or your local Internet Service Provider. If the email is received, please email wmberginformationsystems@wmberg.com for assistance.

Does the part have "full teeth" (PRO-E)?
In some cases, Part Solutions may not be able to generate gears with full teeth quickly in PRO-E format. Part Solutions may take longer to generate these types of models. Please allow additional time for processing. Note: If you need a model quickly, resubmit the request, select a lower level of detail and use the pattern command in PRO-E.
